2023 Transition Schedule

Google Transition Workflow:

1. OEC provisions @ucsd.edu Gmail/Calendar access (if not already enabled)

2. OEC initiates copy of email/calendar/contacts/tasks from @physics.ucsd.edu to @ucsd.edu account

3. At scheduled cutover date/time:

   1. OEC changes email routing so new email delivers to @ucsd.edu Google account

   2. OEC completes a final delta copy of email/calendar/contacts/tasks so @ucsd.edu account is up to date

   3. OEC renames @physics.ucsd.edu account to archive-username@physics.ucsd.edu

4. User now sends/receives email from @ucsd.edu Google account

5. For a period of time, the archive-username@physics.ucsd.edu account will remain in place strictly as an archive

6. User extracts any data they need to keep - Drive, Photos, etc - OEC has provided a guide, and is also available to assist in this process as needed

7. Last piece of the plan is to close, then fully delete the archive-username@physics accounts, once user has confirmed they no longer need the account or anything owned by it
